Hello! Welcome to the September edition of books I have most recommended recently. This is a list of the books that I found myself recommending most often to my counseling clients and I thought it would be beneficial to share with a wider audience. Since these books relate to the themes I have been seeing in clients in the last month, I am sure there are other people out there who could benefit from these books as well!
Personally, this is one of my all time favorite self-help books because of it's simplicity. I also recommend it quite often to clients as it breaks down four simple ideas for you to reflect on that really put an amazing perspective into place on things may have included distorted thinking patterns for you in the past. This is another amazing book to get you heading in the right direction on your personal growth journey. This one has some deep and sometimes abstract ideas so I always highly recommend getting the Audible version so you can sit and listen almost like a class where you can stop and replay different concepts to gain a better understanding of it and how it applies to you life. When I was listening to it, I stopped frequently to rewind and listen to some parts multiple times. " The Untethered Soul begins by walking you through your relationship with your thoughts and emotions, helping you uncover the source and fluctuations of your inner energy. It then delves into what you can do to free yourself from the habitual thoughts, emotions, and energy patterns that limit your consciousness. I can confidently say that this book is LIFE CHANGING for those suffering from anxiety. I recommend this to every single one of my clients who experiences any level of anxiety. This is definitely a must read as the author identifies ways in helping you undo anxiety-based thinking and fostering mindful shifts in your thoughts and actions. This one is a little different but can but just as important for both your own personal growth and getting to know yourself as well as fostering your relationships with others. I often recommend this book to couple's as a new and fun way to connect with each other. The 3000 questions can be funny, serious, or things that you would have never thought of asking and can be used as great conversation starters. This book is great for a date night after a romantic dinner, then going home and pouring some wine, sitting by the fire and learning some fun and interesting facts about each other. This book also is great for getting to know yourself and can be used in a journal format to answer questions as well. Grab your copy here.
